One of my late mother's favorite books is 'The Baclaran Story' when she got sick of cancer in 2008 she's reading the book again maybe she never gets tired of it because she is a devotee of Our Mother Of Perpetual Help or maybe she knows that it's gonna be the last time she'll be reading her favorite book. Being a bookworm and also a devotee of Our Mother Of Perpetual Help, I borrowed the book and I fell in love more with Mother Mary when I got to know the history of the icon of Our Mother Of Perpetual Help.
Here are the details of the book:
The Baclaran Story
by Luis G. Hechanova, cssr
156 pp., PhP 119
The perpetual novena to Our Mother of Perpetual Help was introduced in the Philippines in the Redemptorist Church of Baclaran on June 23, 1948. From an initial attendance of 70 people, it has grown in fifty years to more than 100,000 devotees every Wednesday of the year, making it the biggest of its kind in the world. This is its story.
